Four methods to remove AI-generated summaries from your search results.
Google's AI Overview (previously called SGE - Search Generative Experience) shows AI-generated summaries at the top of search results. While sometimes useful, many users prefer traditional results because:
The simplest solution - just search on our site and we handle everything automatically.
We automatically add the udm=14 parameter (or -ai suffix, your choice) to every search.
Bonus: You can switch between Google, DuckDuckGo, Brave, and other search engines - all with AI filtering applied.
For manual control, add &udm=14 to any Google search URL.
Normal Google search:
https://www.google.com/search?q=best+coffee+shops With AI disabled:
https://www.google.com/search?q=best+coffee+shops&udm=14 The udm=14 parameter forces Google's "Web" tab, which excludes AI Overviews, videos, and knowledge panels. Learn more about udm=14.
Add this as a bookmark and use it to search:
https://www.google.com/search?q=%s&udm=14 Replace %s with your search term, or set it up as a custom search engine in your browser.
A simple trick: append -ai to the end of your search query.
Instead of searching:
best coffee shops Search:
best coffee shops -ai The -ai is a search operator that excludes pages containing "ai" which often triggers Google to skip the AI Overview. However, this method is less reliable than udm=14 and may filter out some legitimate results that mention AI.
Note: This method may stop working as Google changes their algorithms. Use udm=14 for more reliable results.
Install our browser extension to automatically filter AI from every search across multiple search engines.
Other extensions that work:
Chrome users searching for how to disable AI mode have several options. Here's how to turn off AI in Google Chrome specifically.

The extension works on Google, DuckDuckGo, and Brave Search.
Add Unslop Search or AI-free Google as a custom search engine:

For manual control, add &udm=14 to any Google search URL in Chrome. You can also create a custom search engine with this URL:
https://www.google.com/search?q=%s&udm=14 If AI results still appear after trying these methods:
chrome://extensions to ensure the Unslop extension is activeMake AI-free searching automatic by setting Unslop Search as your default.
Safari doesn't support custom search engines natively. Use our browser extension instead, or create a bookmark with the search URL.
The most reliable method is adding &udm=14 to your Google search URL. Alternatively, use Unslop Search which does this automatically, or install a browser extension.
It's a URL parameter that forces Google to show only "Web" tab results, removing AI Overviews, featured snippets, and other rich results. Learn more.
Google doesn't provide a setting to disable AI Overview in your account. However, by setting Unslop Search as your default search engine or using our extension, you get AI-free results automatically on every search.
Yes! You can use unslopsearch.com on any mobile browser. On Android, you can also install it as a PWA (tap the menu and "Add to Home Screen"). Browser extensions work on some mobile browsers like Firefox for Android.
The udm=14 parameter is an official Google feature for their "Web" tab filter, so it's unlikely to be removed. The -ai trick is less reliable and may stop working.
Unslop Search also supports DuckDuckGo, Brave, Startpage, Qwant, and Mojeek - each with their own AI-disabling parameters applied.
